How to be sustainable in a fast fashion world? - Fast fashion has unfortunately taken over the planet both metaphorically and literally. Every year, global emissions from textile production are equivalent to 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2. At Sarvin we have put together some top tips on being more sustainable and breaking away from fast fashion habits.

Lend your clothes to friends and family

Get your girl group together and swap your clothes over for events. Fast fashion has made us all embedded with this idea that we can only wear certain clothing items once; however, swapping over your most loved, most stylish clothing items with friends will allow you all always to look your best.

Donate your clothes

Head over to your local charity shop to give away your unwanted clothes. Charities such as the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research are always accepting donations. This is such an easy way to give back without breaking the bank; whilst helping charity, you are also helping other fashion lovers find their most treasured item.

Consider which brands you shop from

Always research the fashion brands you chose to buy from. Are they transparent? Do they promote sustainable practices? Do their values align with your own about being environmentally friendly and eco-conscious? Continue to investigate their approaches through their websites, social media, and word-of-mouth. Become informed about your values and consistently apply this to your shopping habits!

Reuse your products

This relates to our previous point; there is no shame in re-wearing clothing! If it makes you feel and look fabulous, it is entirely okay to do! So, get searching for that show-stopper dress from 2010, grab that fascinator you wore to the 2013 races, and re-wear to reduce your consumption, thus impacting the environment. Let’s normalise re-wearing our most treasured items of clothing!

Style your clothes differently.

Use different styling options for your favourite garments to mix and match and create various exciting looks. Depending on the occasion, you could wear a Sarvin dress with heels or, if you prefer, a comfy pair of trainers. Accessorise with over-the-top lots and lots of jewellery, or go minimal with one subtle diamond ring. It’s up to you!
